Using This Book

This book can be used by organizations that want to develop paperless systems to document and manage complex distributed processes. Four types of these organizations include:

Organizations With One or More Similar Processes. An example of such organizations are those that manage the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Small Business Innovative Research Program. Here the processes manage the NASA Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs which constitute roughly 50% of NASA's annual contracts.

Organizations With Many Similar Processes. An example of such organizations are those that manage the Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Health Services Resources Administration (HRSA) Grant Programs. Here the processes manage over 95 different Grants programs.

Organizations With Many Diverse Processes. An example of such organizations are those that manage the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) itself. Here the processes manage Grant programs, Contract programs, policy directives, education analysis programs, etc.

Organizations Which Develop EHBs for Others. An example of such organizations are those that manage REI Systems EHBs projects. Here the EHBs document and manage processes for NASA, HHS, the Department of Justice, Treasury Department, Interior Department, Agriculture Department, etc.
